The Property

Welcome to the quintessential Maine experience

Singing Sands Cottage is perched on the tip of Andrew’s Nubble in Long Island, Maine at the intersection of Singing Sands Beach and South Beach. Many people call it the perfect vacation location as it boasts the best of everything Maine has to offer -a remote location, breathtaking views, beautiful white sand beaches, rock beaches, tide pools and dramatic rock cliffs with crashing waves steps from your door.

To the north are the beautiful white sand beaches, South and Singing Sands. Singing Sands Beach is named for the delightful squeak it emits underfoot. The white sand beach offers gradual entry into the clearest water in Maine, often reminiscent of the Caribbean. South Beach is the larger beach with more active surf, a great place to walk or play in the waves.

On the east side of the Nubble is Rock Beach, known for its fantastic tide pools and sea life (including lobster) and a favorite spot of our resident Blue Heron, aptly named Blue. From the large south deck enjoy the stunning rocky coastline with crashing waves, spectacular sunrises, views of neighboring islands, and some of the best striper fishing in Casco Bay. Off the west deck is Sea Glass Beach and views to neighboring Vaill Island (accessible at low tide or by kayak).

The property is home to a dozen species of nesting song and sea birds amongst other wildlife. If you are a very early riser, you’ll likely see the deer that make their way across the beach at night to sleep on the property, returning to the interior of the island before daylight.
