A special location requires a special cottage. A cottage to keep you connected to the nature and the Maine coast to let you unwind from the world, while delivering creature comforts to make your stay comfortable.

Singing Sands Cottage on Andrew’s Nubble is something out of a storybook. You approach the Nubble from the white sand beach, up a flight of stairs to an elevated deck overlooking the beach and a walkway to the interior of the property. Past the owner’s cottage (Shark Cove Cottage) you’ll follow a short path past the shed decorated with dozens of lobster buoys to the steps of Singing Sands Cottage. A flight of stairs bring you to a wrap around composite deck with dramatic views from every angle. The deck railing is made from lobster trap wire, a reference to the island’s rich and continued lobster fishery. The rear deck is the largest, over 300sq feet, a perfect place to read, paint or enjoy a cocktail on the high top table built in to an old rowing dinghy. Another set of stairs bringing you down to a path overlooking the cliffs, crashing surf and Atlantic Ocean. A walk around the Nubble is a popular activity and offers numerous tide pools and rock beaches along the way.

You enter the cottage from the west deck overlooking green vegetation, houses for our nesting tree swallows and Vaill Island. The interior is quite special – a cathedral ceiling, large windows, and warm wood interior welcome you inside. The floors and trim are quite unique – wide plank mahogany boards that originated from a yacht builder. The walls and ceiling are dressed in local Maine white pine shiplap, a beautiful contrast to the dark mahogany.

The open concept features a dining area and living area, highlighted by the extra large triple pane sliding glass door bringing you to the rear deck with comfortable outdoor furniture.

There is a bedroom on the first floor with a queen sized bed, large closet and tv. The bedroom looks over Rock Beach and it’s sheltered cove.

From the main area a spiral staircase brings you to a loft area (approximately five and half feet tall at the center). The railing is made from cedar and features the same lobster trap wire as the deck. There are two twin beds here. A large window opposite the loft offers distant views of the famous Halfway Rock Lighthouse. You’ll notice it’s unique red beacon at night – a color given only to the lighthouses with the

The cottage is well stocked with gear to make your stay enjoyable. If you are an artist, we encourage you to use our antique easel and share a copy of your work (many great artworks have been created here). There are chairs and lounges throughout the property and beach for your use. There are two single kayaks, one double kayak, a paddleboard and beach gear and toys. We have board games, as well as a well stocked book and DVD library. There is cellular and data service on the Nubble, quality and speed will vary based on carrier and location. We use AT&T and have been able to enjoy video calls with friends and family and streaming services.
